Hungarian is an agglutinative
language. Most grammatical information is given through suffixes. For
example: at the table =
az asztalnál (space
relation), at 5 o'clock =
öt órakor (time relation).
There is also one grammatical prefix (leg- for superlatives).
An unusual feature of Hungarian are the 2 verb conjugations. The "definite"
conjugation is used for a transitive verb with a definite object. The
"indefinite" conjugation is used for an intransitive verb
or for a transitive verb with an indefinite object.
