Romanian (limba româna), the official language of Romania, is an Eastern Romance language. It is spoken natively by about 24 to 26 million people, most of them in Romania, Moldova and Vojvodina. The official form of the Moldovan language in the Republic of Moldova is nearly identical to the official form of Romanian.
